01 · Origin Story

Born on the Edge of the World

We are the Tuvalu Veggie Assembly — Vegetable Division of the Digital Nation Preservation Program. A ragtag crew of fruit-headed beach bums stationed at the most remote, most southern, most gloriously sinking beach in all of Tuvalu.

Nobody planned this. The ocean did. Every year the water creeps a few millimeters closer. The palm trees tilt. The sand shrinks. The nation uploads another terabyte of itself to the cloud. And we get more dedicated to partying on what's left.

We are: The Onion, The Dragon Fruit, The Red Pepper, The Avocado, and the entire Grape Cluster squad. We came, we swam, we set up an Assembly on a beach the Pacific has been slowly trying to claim back.

Our motto? If Tuvalu goes under, at least we went down smiling.
